Providing free public access to vital information
DPLA believes that open and convenient access to accurate information allows for an informed public and is an essential service that is core to the role libraries have played in democratic societies for generations.
DPLA has published free, easy-to-read ebooks from public documents—no library card or sign-in required. It is also available at no cost to libraries, which may provide it to their patrons without restrictions, through the SimplyE app or epub format.
DPLA has made every effort to accommodate those who require assistive technology in order to read text and will continue to work to make the text as accessible as possible. DPLA Publications are available in the Open Bookshelf collection within the SimplyE app.
The Mueller Report
The Report On The Investigation Into Russian Interference In The 2016 Presidential Election, or the Mueller Report, is now freely available in ebook format. DPLA and the Internet Archive were honored with a Digital Book World award for Best Nonfiction Book for their work on the publication. The enhanced version of the report includes links to more than 740 of the original documents referenced in footnotes, as well as format and tagging enhancements to make the document more accessible to those with text impairments.
The Senate Intelligence Committee Report
The Senate Intelligence Committee Report of Russian Active Measures, Campaigns and Interference in the 2016 U.S. Election was published in 2020, and includes both volumes of the Committee’s report.
The Impeachment Papers
The Impeachment Papers: A Compendium of Public Documents Related to the Impeachment of President Donald J. Trump, is available in an updated version that includes the documents related to the FISA Applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation, as well as the House Intelligence and Judiciary Committee reports.
