Planning Initiative

Between 2011 and 2013, DPLA’s grassroots planning phase brought together leaders from libraries, academia, technology, and cultural organizations through a series of conferences, workshops, and meetings. The connections built through these events were fundamental to the launch of DPLA in April 2013, and continue to play an essential role in its growth.
